Arrival in the Lower Zambezi
On arrival at Lusaka Airport, you will connect onto a domestic scheduled flight to Jeki Airstrip, where a guide will welcome you and take you to Kutali Camp — your home for three nights in Zambia’s Lower Zambezi National Park.
Kutali Camp — Lower Zambezi
Kutali Camp is a classic tented safari camp that blends the comfort of modern luxury with the charm and authenticity of a true seasonal bush camp. With just six guest tents accommodating a maximum of twelve guests, Kutali offers an intimate and exclusive experience on the banks of the Zambezi River.
Each tent is thoughtfully positioned to capture sweeping river views and designed for comfort, featuring high-quality linen, comfortable beds, flushing toilets, running water, and traditional bucket showers. The central stretch-canvas main area, shaded beneath magnificent Winterthorn trees, is perfect for dining, relaxing with a book, or watching wildlife along the river.
Classic Zambia camps specialise in walking and canoe-based safaris with highly qualified guides. They also offer day and night game drives, boat-based safaris and angling for the world-famous tigerfish. The Lower Zambezi has some of Africa’s finest big-game viewing — high densities of elephant, buffalo and impala, with lion, leopard and wild dog well represented.

Boats, wildlife and the Zambezi
Explore the river by boat, watch elephants wade through wetlands, and end the day with sundowners as the valley settles into dusk.
Campfire evenings by the river
Gather around the fire under Winterthorn trees as lanterns glow and the stretch tent comes alive for dinner.
Leopards, wild dogs and big game
From leopard in the Winterthorns to packs of wild dog on the move, the Lower Zambezi delivers exceptional predator and elephant sightings.
Flight to Kafue — Musekese Camp
You will be transferred to Jeki Airstrip for a shared charter flight to Lufupa Airstrip. A guide will welcome you and take you to Musekese Camp — your home for the next three nights.
Musekese Camp — Kafue National Park
With just five guest rooms (a sixth due in 2026) and a team of highly experienced guides, life at Musekese Camp moves at your own pace. Rooms are spacious and thoughtfully designed, each with en-suite flushing toilets and on-demand hot and cold showers. Powered entirely by solar, the camp runs smoothly and sustainably.
Before 2012, no tourist had ever set foot in this remote, wildlife-rich corner of Kafue. Through years of conservation work, the area has become a thriving haven — still wonderfully exclusive and among the most unspoiled tracts of African wilderness you can find.
Game numbers and sightings improve year upon year. Leopard and lion are very well represented; elephant herds are always visible in the dry season; plains game ranges from sable and hartebeest to zebra and puku in their thousands. Birding is top-class, with hundreds of species recorded.

More lions than tourists
Musekese is one of the finest true wilderness locations on the continent — you are more likely to see lions than other vehicles.
Comfort in the bush
Spacious tented rooms with canopy nets, wooden chests and soft lantern light — bush authenticity with thoughtful comfort.
Game drive to the Busanga Plains
After breakfast, a game drive transfer takes you to Ntemwa-Busanga Camp in the Busanga Plains of Kafue National Park — with exciting scenery and wildlife along the way. This will be your home for the final three nights.
Ntemwa-Busanga Camp — Busanga Plains
This intimate camp features just five thatched chalets, each with an open-air en-suite bathroom at the rear — flushing toilet, plumbed sink and warm bucket shower. The raised main deck overlooks the vast, wildlife-rich Busanga Plains.
Wildlife here is as varied as it is abundant: roan and sable are regular sightings, thousands of red lechwe dot the plains, and wildebeest, zebra, oribi and reedbuck thrive on the southern plains. Predators are exceptional — multiple lion prides, rewarding leopard sightings, cheetah (nine individuals recorded from camp in 2025) and wild dogs moving through the area.
Activities are predominantly vehicle-based, ideal for exploring the plains. Combined with Musekese’s walking and boating options, guests enjoy a superb “best of Kafue” itinerary. The guiding team is among the most experienced in the region.
